Collection: Maternity Wear By ARAMBH

🤰 What is Maternity Wear?

Maternity wear is clothing specially designed and constructed to accommodate a woman's changing body shape during pregnancy and, often, into the postpartum/nursing period. Unlike simply sizing up in regular clothes, maternity garments are engineered with specific features to provide comfort, support, and a flattering fit as the body evolves.

Key Features and Purpose

The primary goal of maternity clothing is to provide:

• Comfort and Flexibility: Pregnant women experience significant changes, including a growing belly, enlarging breasts, and wider hips. Maternity clothes are typically made from soft, breathable, and stretchy fabrics like cotton, Lycra, or elastane blends to ensure ease of movement and alleviate pressure points.

• Support: Many maternity bottoms (like pants, jeans, and leggings) feature elastic waistbands or supportive panels that fit over or under the growing abdomen, offering gentle support to the bump and lower back.

• Adaptability: The best maternity pieces are designed to adjust. For example, some tops have ruching (gathering) on the sides to stretch gracefully over the bump, while dresses often feature empire waistlines that are flattering throughout all stages.

• Functionality for Postpartum: A large portion of maternity wear, particularly tops and dresses, is designed with discreet nursing access (like hidden zippers, pull-down panels, or snap buttons) to extend the garment's usability into the breastfeeding phase.
